ROV Competition Results!

From June 26th to 28th the Tau Beta Pi ROV Team represented UC San Diego at the 2008 Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) International ROV Competition. This event was hosted by UCSD and the Scripps Institute of Oceanography and featured teams from Canada, Russia, Iran, and China, as well as from all across the U.S. We placed 15th out of 53 teams, beating MIT, UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz (the only other UC’s competing) and took home the Team Spirit Award! Also, team captain Evan Woolley was named MVP of the Engineering Evaluation component! All this for our very first competition :)

Thanks to everyone who helped out with the ROV and competition. Pictures and a video will be up soon, along with a feature of our team in Servo Magazine.
